I've been reading about how ideally you have 2 or even 3 drain lines incase one or two gets clogged. I can only have one, so I'm thinking I can put my return pump on a stand in the sump so if my drain is clogged it wont completely overflow everything? Thoughts?

Is return pump in it’s own section in sump?
Sump layout?
Is your return line from pump drilled throu tank?

Ideally I think a switch would be better. On a stand you won't overflow but you could potentially burn out your pump which could nuke the tank. If you got a float switch it could kill the power to the pump if the water level in the sump got too low.
