Hello all. I have a Sicce syncra 6.0 in sequential power mode. It is making my ATO shut off; I think it’s because the return chamber fills up a little more when the power is reduced. Is there some way I can fix this, or should I just set the power mode to constant and maybe change the flow mode? I just have softies, so maybe flow changes don’t even matter. I’d still like to know though, in case I get more advanced corals in the future. I do have a wave maker and a powerhead running. Tank is 90g. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I would definitely put on at least constant or a predictable pattern at the very most.

I have my ato on a timer, comes on only 3 times a day, which helps reduce any overfills as the ato is off for most of the day (an Amazon plug is all I use.)

Ooh, a timer is a great idea! Thank you

I have the SDC 9.0 and ran into the same issue when I tried different modes! The timer is as suggested is a great idea (provide that the evaporation is somewhat constant). Other than that I don't know if any one have successfully utilized different modes

Think you might be slightly misunderstanding what I mean, the evaporation doest really have to be consistent, the ATO turns on 3 times a day for 1 min each time, (takes less the. 20 seconds to fill) each time it turns on it fills to the correct lvl.
The timer doesn’t add a predetermined amount of water, it’s free to add as much water as needed, every time it turns on.

The timer doesn’t add a predetermined amount of water, it’s free to add as much water as needed, every time it turns on.

so basically you've forced the ato to do a few larger fills as opposed to more frequent smaller fills, correct? i battle this with the ato on my 40aio...seems to love frequent 5 second spurts.

im setting up a tank with 2xsyncra 9's and wanted to use ripple/reef crest. that is actually a super simple solution and i cant believe i didnt think of it over the last week ive been trying to decide how to handle this LOL. i like it!
