Return pump recommendation for red sea 425xl

My vectra pump just burned out which durable pump can anyone reccomend for a red sea 425xl?

Does it have to be submerged?

The most reliable return pumps are external AC pumps like blue line, Iwaki, pan world.

They aren't the most quiet, and you can't adjust them without a valve, but they will last a decade plus without service.

No the reef octopus various can be ran either way and they are dead silent

What setting do you have it on? I’m curious how much flow I should have with same setup.

What is your base setting on the sicce 7.0 in the reefer425xl? I have the same pump running at 45% and the return chamber of the sump seems so low and I'm not sure I'm getting enough water flow..

Apex COR 20 has been running through several custom plumbing, with 3 reactors plumbed, for 1.5 years now. It's also controlled through my Apex (if you have this controller?) which makes it an ease to control feeding schedules

+1 for COR 20 on my 425xl

You probably won't believe it, but I'm running a Jebao DCP6500 for over two years on the same tank. Never took it out for cleaning and its still humming along

I think you could probably get away with a COR15 on a 425XL and the COR15 runs over 1LINK.

Cor20 runs itself . No apex needed

cor15 they changed it up ?

Just double-checked. The COR15 only runs off 1LINK, so you need an Apex. The COR20 runs off a standard outlet - so it can run with or without an Apex (though to control it you need an Apex with Aquabus).

I run a cor20 on my apex.
It's nice in feed mode, it'll hold the water in suspension.
