yes i know, the dreaded return pump question. but, need help with selecting a new return pump. Currently have a panworld 150ps that's about 15 years old. Basement sump with roughly 15-16' head. looking at things, i don't think the dc pumps have enough head to handle my setup. was think iwaki md-40rxt? md-55rlt? please help with some suggestions

The Iwaki 55 is a little more powerful, but similar to the Pan World 150PS in terms of performance. It should deliver about 700 GPH at 16 feet of head according to the Iwaki performance curves. The 40 RXT will be less powerful, delivering about 480 gph at 16 ft of head. Your Pan World 150PS should deliver 600 GPH at 16 ft of head according to the curves on the Pan World website.

I would go with one of those three pumps.

Just purchased a PanWorld 100PX-X. We don't use it for tank atm, but we use it for water station and pump it 6 feet vertical height as well as 38-40 ft horzontal. Works well. Reviews of Iwaki are typically even superior (albeit more expensive).
