150 gal d/t 55 gal sump 3/4 r/t line
1" drain
Do I really need a 3000gph pump! ??

I believe you want to aim for 5-8x turnover regarding the display volume. So 750-1,200gph

Edit: Turns out that is incorrect, 5-8x is for wavemaker turnover

Agreed. On a 150 gal I’d shot for 3-4 times.
FYI just about all pump manufacturers overate their output, except maybe ehiem.
don’t forget to figure in head height.
A 1” single drain can run about 850 gph safely. Less if you want it quiet

Thanks y'all thanks
That's exactly my concern I have old a#$ tank just resealed + drilled a 3/4 beside the existing 1" before I start should I just drill another hole 1" hole 1/2" glass definitely a p i.a. but already bought the drill and bit. Was already leaning that way but I assume I need to buy a 1"bit to match the other corner drain. Also cannot find the same or even close corner overflow. please advise

After decades of listening to the gurgling associated with single drain system, thing bean animal and Herbie plumbing is the best thing eva.
could drill another hole into existing overflow, and/or run an over the top return line from pump.
With a full siphon on one of the drain lines you can almost double the amount of flow. Not that I would, because me thinks 3-5x turnover is ideal regardless of how many drains
