so I just installed a return pump and it says it’s operating at 59 watts while my apex is saying 309 watts. I’m confused?

Get a kill-a-watt and figure out who is lying. I've found the apex to be accurate, but that is odd..

I have the Jaebo DCP 8000. My pump is rated for 65 watts. The display however goes from 30 to 100. It does say Watts. I believe this is percentage of full power not watts. I don't have an Apex to know my actual watts. Also your Apex is reading wall watts which doesn't account for heat losses. Being a cheap pump may not be very efficient . Your pump is rated for 105 watts. If I'm right about percentage than you should be drawing about 55 watts.
