I have a sneaky suspicion my current pump is dying a slow death so I am looking at a replacement. So yet again a few questions. First of all the size/return volume, I did a search and like anything in this hobby I get more conflicting answers than I care for. So I have seen anything from 3X to 10X of the display tank and/or system volume. So on my 30 gallon display plus sump the range is anything from 90 to 440 gallons!!! From memory my LFS said 3x total volume is a good number which places me at the bottom third of the spread, does that sound about right?
Then for pumps I am looking at either Eheim or Tunze. Any thoughts on them or any others I should look at?
