I am in need of a new return pump pretty soon and was wondering what is recommended from your experiences. My set up is a 125gal dual overflows. I have a 55 gal tank for a sump with an in sump pump. Not drilled for external pumps. Im running a mag 7 now.

Thanks for your input and suggestions it is greatly appreciated.

Eheim 1260 or 1262 depending on how much flow you want through the sump and if you're feeding reactors with it. 1260 should be just fine though.

The Eheims already suggested or a Ocean Runner 2500 or 3500, any are a great choice.

I personally like the lagunas they are all around very solid good performing pumps... A 1500 would do the job well.... If ya want to get fancy pick up a flowstar from atb, that's what I run a flowstar 3200....more flow and less wattage...;)
if you keep a eye out you can find the 1500 on sale for 99bucks that's a smoking deal...

Is your sump in the stand directly under your tank? Striaight shot for the return line, or is it hard piped with 45's/90's/etc?

I've been happy with the Eheim 1260

Yes its directly under the tank and its only got 1 90deg angle. Its mostly soft piped.

Thanks all for your replies, I appreciate it.
