Return pump

Hey guys , so I set my tank up and it was good for a couple days , but now it’s spewing what looks like sandy water back in almost as if there’s no water but the water is like a half inch past the slots that allow the water to go through , do I need more salt water or RODI?

Then when I turn it on , the water drains down and starts making a noise as if there’s not enough water
