Return pumps

I have a 120 gal. tank with 30 gal. refugium with 2 Rio 2500 pumps around 1200 gph each is this to much flow and should I be using one pump instead of two. I have had them for at least three years so the gph may be less.

So got it wrong it's not 1200 each it's 782 gph each

I ran similar tank with one pump

So 5 x the total gallons should be plenty then

Yea that is fine for filtration. 782 x2 is 1564/ tank+sump. I get 10x turnover but after head pressure you might be around 8x+/- still not bad.
