I'm building a 60x36x27 dream tank and doing three 1.5" drains bean animal style, and wondering if two 1" returns will be sufficient or if I should go with 1.5"? I plan on running either a reeflo or similar if it's not too noisey. I like a lot of turn over in the sump with a big chaeto fuge. The only reason I can think to go with the smaller returns is ease of plumbing. I plan on having the returns go up through the internal overflow and out through ocean motion omni flex nozzles.

Thanks!

I have a 250 and I run two 1.5 drains and three 1 inch returns I run the varios8 from reef octopus and am happy with it using an 1-1/4 manifold to run three reactors as well as my returns

I would probably install 2x 1.5'' and reduce it to increase/decrease outflow pressure from your nozzles accordingly. It's all about adjustability, give yourself some room to work.

Thanks, I think I'll ask for all 1.5". It's already going to be a large internal box.

I have the largest sicce pro right now, and it works well, but most of the outputs for those pumps are 3/4". I guess the way to think about it is you can never go up in size, but you can always go down.
