Hi there. First post. I'm returning to the hoby. Had a 75 mixed for 3 years. Getting back in with a 125. Hoping for LPS SPS mix. Looking to learn about what corals can live together. Need to make a plan.

Welcome. What type of light do you plan to use on the new system? Will it be strong flow with intermittent powerhead ? How deep is the tank 24"? What type of coral do you like? Do you plan to dose anything? Will you stock the tank with lots of rock?(These are the questions I try to ask myself when picking out coral.
You can build some overhangs and stick chalices in the lower light/ flow areas. I really like the color and diversity of acans personally.
You should go thru some of the sponsors sites and see what catches your eye. When you find some jewels we can help you place them.

Leaning towards LED's. Maybe two AI Hydra 52's but I'm not completely sold on them yet. Still learning. I'm getting a package deal with a tank and a bunch of gear. Comes with two Coralife 250w MH with Actinics on the sides and LED monlights.
Hoping for strong flow. Starting out with 1 vortech mp40 and 2 mp10 wavemakers, Iwaki md30 and md20 rlxt, and a 1" seaswirl. The tank is plumbed for a closed loop and I still need to add a skimmer. I have a few other pumps from my last tank too.
The tank is 60x18x24 with Dual overflows. Not thrilled about having another 18" wide tank but the price is right so I'll make due.
Getting two Liter Meter III's I'll have to learn how to use.
Have lots of dead live rock to reuse. Probably enough to fill the tank.
Not sure what specific kind of corals yet. I has hoping for a site/book/advice that could tell me what kinds of corals can live together. That's called husbandry right? I didn't pay attention to this with my last tank so I got to watch corals fight for real estate. This time around I want to build the system for the critters.
