Hello everyone.

So Ive just introduced a new fish a week ago
I have a purple tang that's a bit aggressive to new fish
so I took him out and wondered how long people would leave it before I put him back in?
He has been out the tank a week now the new fish seems very happy no other fish both him they all seem to be getting along
I know if I put the purple back in and he starts his aggression I won't be able to catch him as he'll know what's happening

How long would you keep him.out for?

Tanks about 260gallons
2 clowns
Fire fish
Starry blenny
Midas blenny
melanurus wrasse
Banana wrasse /silver belly wrasse
Scopas tang
Just added a copper band and a blue cheek goby
Removed the purple tang as he is the aggressive one the scopas isn't an issue

7 - 14 days tends to be the norm for keeping aggressive fish in time out. Ive done 7 a few times and its worked.

Either way, when you reintroduce i would put the purple into an acclimation box - Let both show whatever interest they are going to without the ability of actually causing damage if thats the case. If there is still big aggression, then it may be a case of removing for good.

For what its worth - An acclimation box can be as simple as eggcrate fixed into a rectangle with cable ties and a magnet to keep it in place. Doesnt have to be fancy, just something large enough to house the fish for a day or two to observe.
