Hello Reef2reef!
I'm new to the forum but not to the hobby I had a 75g and 40g back when I was a 16-18 year old, I had to shut them down when I joined the USMC and have lived a somewhat nomadic life since then. Now I've settled down in one location and Started a Family. I work as a professional artist and going to the new Bass Pro Aquarium gave me the reefing bug again! My goal is to set up a tank in my art studio as we don't have room in our house.
Speaking of that I'm planning on starting a 40G breeder with a 20G DIY sump/refugium. I'm having a little bit of trouble figuring out the drainage rate compared to the return and have read a couple of places to get a gate valve to fine-tune it.
Any tips here?
Id love to get some LPS and maybe even get some SPS in the tank at some point but either way, it will bring some life to my little studio
Also, I love the DIY aspect of the hobby and with years of contracting work I've got the plumbing, stand building and many other aspects of that pretty down. Im modeling out a detailed plan for the aquarium in Blender (a 3d Program) before I start buying as I'm trying to be relatively budget conscience.
Anyways I'm excited to get started!
Anthony
