Returning my 40gal QT and need some advice

So my 40gal QT/observation tank sprung a leak before it even was ready to start adding fish. Fortunately Petco (I know, I know, but they had a killer deal) said I can return it.

I was wondering should I exchange it for another 40gal or should I get 2x 20gals instead?

Id go with the 40. You can always use dividers.
I use 2 40 breeders for sumps from petco dollar days. No issues.

My sump is also an Aqueon 40 breeder from Petco.

They make great QT tanks too. But so do 20 Longs. It kind of depends on how big of fish you are QTing.
