Hey everyone!

My name is Donovan, Im 33 from Nashville, TN. I've recently returned to the hobby after a 2 year break. Prior to the break, I had a 90g mixed reef and a 40g softy only tank. I lived in SC at the time and a hurricane caused extensive damage to my house basically killing virtualy everything I had worked for over a 6 year period. Only a single clown and 2 striped damsels survived it. I've kept them ever since in a 20g tank however I recently gave the 2 damsels to my LFS for store credit because they started becoming too aggressive to my clown out of the blue. Clown fish are my favorite and this particular clown was actually my very first saltwater fish I ever owned. So there was no way I was getting rid of him!

3 months ago I decided to buy the JBJ Nano-Cube 28g and so far I love it. I started the tank with my clown fish I've had, live sand, live rock and a bottle of Bio-Spira. It went through it's initial cycle very quickly. Yesterday (3 months after setup) I added a yellow watchman goby, pistol shrimp, a 3 polyp paly frag and a small rock of about 20 or so Zoa polyps. Everything is doing really well so far and I am very excited. Even the goby and shrimp paired up litirally within 2 minutes and they were not already paired. My only struggle so far is figuring out a schedule and intensity of these LED lights. I previously only had fluorescent lights, so they are so new to me.

Anyways, I will start a thread in the build section later if you want to follow my journey. I look forward to getting involved with the community and hobby again!

Happy reefing!

Welcome back. Your past experience will serve you well and help others here. Great to have you!
Thanks so much! It's great to be back! Actually, my past experience has already been incredibly helpful. Setting up the new AIO and the cycle process went so smoothly and quickly! It's like riding a bike. And having a place like R2R and my incredible LFS makes me feel much more confident!
