Okay so currently I have a 30 gallon tank that has little live rock in it. Also I have another 55 gallon tank that has tons of live rock. But in that tank I am bay taking cyano bacteria and green hair algae. Can I just take the rock out of that tank and use it in my other tank or do I need to use bleach and clear out the rock of all the bad things in the previous tank.

If it was dry rock that is less than 9 months old I would not use it. I would use the rock from the smaller tank and try to find some other live rock.

Well once it’s bleached, it’s nothing more than dry rock... if your having issues, I certainly wouldn’t transfer a problem to a new tank.

Okay so if I bleach the rock it basically becomes dry rock. If I put dry rock in a established tank will it be bad or even cause more problems like algae?
