my QT tank is recently empty now and i dont plan on getting new fish till at least after the xmas time :) that said, my QT is a AC70, 20g L tank, heater, and ATO. i have 6 marinepure balls and the HOB sponge in the filter. when breaking this tank down, should i just soap and water everything that was "wet" and store it until needed again? anything else i should do for cleaning purposes?

also, can i reuse the media, (the MP balls and sponge)? would i just rinse those and let them air dry before putting them back in my DT sump for seeding or just junk it and use new ones?

thanks

Depends on what kind of meds you use. If you used copper I would junk it as I wouldn't want to have copper in your display.

Bleach will remove all biofilm and most med residue, rinse, rinse, dry
Vinegar will precipitate the copper to a harmless form, rinse, rinse, dry
And if you had to heavily medicate a tank for something scary like velvet, uronema, gram negative bacterial infection use hydrogen peroxide, rinse, rinse, dry

But why the media is cheap toys and use new one. :)
