reusing sand

I am going to be downsizing aquariums as I'm moving... I am wondering, would it be ok to reuse the current sand in my tank as long as I give it a good rinse?

My tank has been up since June of 2013 and the sand was bought new.. The sand is Tropic Eden Reef Flakes.

Honestly I would go new & just use a cup or two of your old sand to keep some bio!!!
