Hi

Newbie questions....

I have a 75 gallon bow front tank that will arrive in two weeks, it will have two 3/4" overflow bulkheads pre-installed in the back upper left ( cant use bottom ). I have a 20" x 17" space in the wall beside the tank that I am turning into a small closet that I want to use for the hardware but it seems that will be too small to put my refugium there so it will just be for the electrical and controllers etc. My new plan is to put the refugium in the basement underneath that wall space. The main refugium equipment I am considering is the Precision Marine Refugium R24 with a Reef Octopus Classic 110 INT Protein Skimmer. MarinePure BioFilter media blocks and Miracle Mud.
Does this seem an appropriate setup?

Instead of using the two filter socks I was considering replacing them with AquaMaxx Fluidized Media Reactors (standard).
- Is this a wise/feasible choice
- Since I will have a 10+ foot gravity feed for the water intake will I still need a pump for the media reactors?

So you are saying you will have a sump in the basement. What pump are you planning to use to get the water back up to your tank?
Using a media reactor instead of filter socks or other filter could cause issues when the media gets clogged and you haven't changed it yet. You would have to pipe in some type of by pass so the water would still be able to flow throw the system or you will have a mess.
