Rev's 400+ Gallon Basement Inwall

Rev, do you have anything below the sand line on those rock structures? I would worry that any burrowing fish might get under there and cause some shifting. Shifting rock + expensive aquarium = scary

No but the structure is pretty spread out at the bottom and not real high.

Let me ask y'all this. If you were going to hang lights like this how would to do it? It's not too late for me to change it up!

Double up on the lights. That is not nearly enough coverage. Sorry. Anyone I've seen with a tank as deep front to back as yours that is really successful with clustered lighting like that has them in a 2 x n configuration. Breakout the checkbook or get five CoralCare lights. :)

Talked to ETM about it and they said I would be fine with four of them. I'll have Zoas and fatty Lps up front so I don't want a bunch of light. Also the take is only 24" deep.

I hope this is well received... What about adding some supplemental T5 bulbs front and rear to compensate for some of the shadowing and add some additional color to the tank? A pair of Giesemann Razor retro fixtures? Easy to mount to your rack and versatile.

Exactly what I did on mine

Not sure how he would hang the T5 fixtures though

Another thing that helped me get rid of the shadowing on the bracing Of my tank was putting the 120 degree lenses on the radions

If your plan is that, and no SPS halfway down and halfway out from center I think it will be fine. Otherwise long term shadowing will come into play.

I do like the idea of adding t5 front and back though. It will even things out nicely.

I am a T5 and LED guy (see my build). I love the mix of the two. The LEDs offer the "pop" the PAR and the ramp up/ramp down that I love. The T5s help with shadowing, filling out the spectrum, and blending in some of the shimmer from the Kessils

I have a question. I'm very new to the hobby and learning more and more everyday. I noticed in your pics that you will be using reeflink and apex...Can't you hook all the ecotech to the apex using the radion apex module? Or is that too much equipment to connect to apex? Maybe the reeflink is for the ecotech pumps since I don't think they connect to the radion apex module...

Everything but the vectra. We (neptune) also have a cool new feature inside Apex Fusion cloud interface - you can share all your vortech and Radion configurations and schedules. Even the 8-ch G4!

Still working on the wire management but here it is so far. Still have to adjust where the Radions will go so I can place the wires flush against the rack.
