I don't blame you for being nervous, I would be too if I was doing such a big build, but it's worth sticking to your plan. You have the opportunity to build your dream set up! Plus you have the backing of a great forum and no doubt plenty of reefers with great experience that will have no hesitation in helping you along the way.

I tell you I had plans and fundamentally everything worked out out as planned but there were soooo many tweaks, and some surprises that had I been aware of in the beginning, might have made things a little simpler,so if some of your plans have to deviate off course a little don't get discouraged just keep pushing forward. that should be the reef keeping mantra " just keep pushing forward"

A new tank with a larger setup can be a daunting task. Take it one step at a time thinking just about what you're working on. I had lots of 2nd thoughts especially just before I started the build but then few weeks later was standing next to the guy drilling my living room floor (1.5 Ft of reinforced steel cement to run the tubing to the basement) and didn't even blink (;
This build will be Epic.

Thanks everyone. I had the plumber come in to give an estimate on the floor drain. I hope to hear back soon what it will cost. Looks to be pretty simple considering how difficult it sounds.

Got some tank photos! Remember this is in wall so the braces are not going to be an issue as far as looks but needed to be done because of the size.

Looks awesome Rev! Is that the hybrid bottom (pvc/glass/abs)?
Just tell them to make sure it's really sealed well.
When I tore down my planet tank after just a year or so, water had penetrated under the top layer.

Hey man how big was your tank and what exactly do you mean when you say it penetrated the top layer?

84x24x24 eurobraced, no trim or braces.
It was a 3-layer bottom. A layer of glass sandwiched between ABS and PVC I believe.
When I tore it down and emptied it out it sat empty for several weeks. Then when we finally moved it, water started seeping out of the top layer, creating a puddle in the empty tank. If I pushed down on the top layer it had some give and it smelled like low tide with that old water trapped in there.
I didn't investigate further but there had to have been a slight leak in the silicone or something to allow water past that top layer.

My tank is 1" solid PVC...

It is also wrapped in a 1.25" stainless steel frame.
