Rev's 400+ Gallon Basement Inwall

He probably blares his music while drinking his Yoohoo anyway so the extra sound from deviating from a BA won't matter. :p
That and also when relocating armadillos... :D

What is the plenum over the sump feeding?

Not to be a PITA here but why all the work to get around doing the bean animal as designed? Is it is just so you can keep the cat walk flush to the tank back? If that's the case just build a stand off that creates a new "surface" outside the pipes and re-install the catwalk. The bean is soooo quiet and safe I would try and use it.

I run a bean on my overflow. Sump is in the basement. The valve from the full siphon is about a foot from the overflow. I've never had a problem. It purges all the water out every time, is silent, and I can look inside the overflow for really fine tuning. In my application I did not want to be running up and down the stairs to tune it. Just my 2c. BTW Rev, that control board is killer. Someday it could be a collectible on American Pickers.

I'm curious, is it quiet at both the DT and down in the basement?

Just to be clear... we are NOT trying to reinvent the BA, simply trying to come up with a possible recommendation to a specific situation.

Yup! Only noise in the basement is the skimmer and Iwaki return pump. Only noise in DT is surface turbulence from my SeaSwirl. I get the air purge concern, and maybe with a basement sump that negates that issue. I have about 10 feet of vertical drop from the overflow to sump. Perhaps in a more typical set up it could be a problem.

Sorry if I sounded attacking, didn't mean to. Just wondering what was causing you guys to work around an "obstacle".

I don't think you have anything to be sorry about. :)

I'm not offended!! I'm offended to have to plumb this by myself! LOL!

Your plumbing would be much less of an issue if you would change to a 12ft tank. :p

So I started from the beginning here sitting at work. Holy smokes Rev! This is amazing, so glad to see someones dream tank come to fruition. Get that sucker wet already :)

Sorry I won the last bet rev
Ok next bet is page 75 over under water will be in this pool?
It is nice tho that u are taking ur time and doing it right
And it really looks amazing

Don't worry Rev, I feel sorry for you having to plumb this thing by yourself as well.[emoji41]

I was getting help and then I wasn't and then I was again and tonight I FINALLY got some help and got the plumbing started! One more day and the tank will be plumbed to the sump.
