Picked this guy up at my LFS 6 days ago and not sure if it’s healthy. I had put him the the corner of the tank on day one where the flow was lowest and he seemed fine. The next day he started to spew a pinkish substance (I did feed him the day before) then began to move close to the intake. Later that night o checked on him and he was upside down in the tank. I then moved him to a rock mid tank level. I can’t tell if he is on the verge of dying or just acclimating to my tank. Anyone else has any experience with RFA’s or know what the pink stringy stuff was it spewed.

So I think this is good news. I gave him some food and he seems to be eating so I'm taking that as a good sign.

And now this guy has moved again and is attached to rock but has its face in the sand. This guy must be special. Just going to let him be and see what he does.

Hi there.

Based on the photos, that is not a rock flower anemone. Maybe someone else can help to better identify what type of anemone it is, but it looks like a maxi mini to me. Either way, based on the third photo, definitely not an RFA.

Anemones can be weird and take a little to get adjusted in a new tank. If his foot is attached, I’d leave him alone and let it do its thing. Just feed it once a week with some meaty food once a week or so for a while. Just make sure not to try and remove him from a rock or anything if he has his foothold. You don’t want to damage the foot.

Not an RFA. Lol my LFS has some e Pluto do. Thank you for the advice. I’ll do some research on maxi mini to see if my care should be different.
