Hiya i was watching a youtube video
he used some rgb floodlights that can be controlled for lighting i have seen i video where they do show it over coral
on my 40 gallon breeder
would two 50w units be good enough
which would equal 2.8w per gallon
i caulated it as 36 gallons as sand and rock take water space
any idea woth this would help
many thanks

Watt/gallon and total water volume are close to useless indicators. What you really need is a PAR meter.

I have 460 watts of leds over a 90g tank (36x30x20). It's a bit of over kill, but I needed better coverage front to back because the tank is 30". And I run them at about 50 to 60% power at midday, so about 230 watts over a 20" deep tank with mostly zoas and a few lps and sps.

Hope that helps a little?

I know they use them on DIY algae scrubbers on the red.I use the for Halloween:) but some times the color turns on different from the night before
