Guys,
Is this LPS a danger to fish in a regular reef aquarium? I saw the picture series posted here of a Rhizo eating a fish, but I didn't know if that was a sick or dead one, or if the Rhizo had caught a healthy fish, etc.

Anyways, I am asking if you can keep a Rhizotrochus typus in a regular reef tank? I have a baby Rhizo (2 inches long), and he is in a reef with a couple high priced clowns I just put in. I have the Rhizo covered with a clear plastic container with flow thru holes right now, and wanted to know if he is OK or if I should move him? Thanks.

No, not for most fish. A very small goby or clown would be in trouble if they tried to "snuggle up" with it, as would any fish dumb enough to try to hide in it or near it at night (most fish will not, however a chromis would :) ).

The series of pics you're reffering to was taken by Junior Rhyzo eating a fish! - Michigan Reefers when I was at his house... it was awesome! We've both fed them many things before, but never what most would consider a "nice" reef fish... until this Barletts anthias decided to hop on top of Juniors mesh top and "tan" unde the T5s! Needless to say this fish was waaay dead before it was fed to the rhizo.

Honestly, I'd be more worried about your clowns pestering the coral, IME I've had many clowns pester the crap out of coral leading to their demise or need to be moved... this and the fact that I used to breed the heck out of them making it a "job," not fun, has lead me to hate clownfish, A LOT!

I'd just watch them close and make sure they're not trying to host in it, and if they are make a decision on what to do then.

I've seen my 1.5" Sunburst Anthias get a little too close to one of my rhizos, and the rhizo grabbed him, but he was able to swim free of it's grasp pretty easily.

Rhizos are way cooler than clowns

Thanks very much for your response. Extremely helpful.
