If I cut off a rhodactus from a rock and leave a large portion of the foot will that foot grow a new mushroom? I know some do but I didn't find a straight answer on Indonesian Rhodactis

You can do this. Ive taken a razor and tried to scrape as much of the foot off as i can. Three little mushrooms grew from it
But... this isnt very efficient in my book. Because it takes a while for for the cut piece to attach and they dont do real well when they are loose.
The easiest way ive found is to use a side, cutters bone, chisel... whatever you have, and cut the rock underneath the mushroom this way the shroom stays attached. Then you can glue it to a frag plug or to another place in your tank whatever the goal is.
If your idea it trying to turn this mushroom into 2. Then after you cut the rock slice the shroom right down the center, through the mouth. Then cut the rock there as well. This way the shrooms heal much faster and you dont have to bother with keeping track of them in a basket![]()
