My single Rhodactis has multiplied soo many times, I need to remove them. How do I get them off the rock without taking the tank apart ?

They are a lot like a anemone so I would try the same steps as removing an anemone. IMO.

there are a few ways to do so.

1) Remove rock from tank and hold it upside down out of the water.. the nem might fall off

2)Aim a powerhead at it and make it want to move off the rock and out of the flow

3)Place an ice cube in a ziplock bag and hold it near the foot of the nem, the water temp will make it want to move

4) replace the rock and leave it be

you will not want to peal the nem from the rock.. gently massage the foot of the nem to lightly get it off the rock.. it is easier said then done.. since the nem is on the rock face... I personally would just change the rocks around to make it sturdy and call it a day.

Find an inexpensive , thin chisel.
Swat , annoy , blow them till they retract.
Then scrape the rock meat the foot and pop them off.

Ps, rinse and wipe the chisel with alcohol first.

Ya.....too extreme ! I’ll get them off without killing them and trade them for something else.
Fair enough!
I actually love the look of mushrooms, but hate them in my tank because they burn all of my SPS except for hydnaphora (plague of the SPS IMO).

There is a reason I want to get them out. Chock it up as my first mistake. dang things multiply too quickly and are too big. When I bought it, it was the size of a half dollar. It soon grew to the diameter of a large grapefruit. Then it split. Repeat that scenario a bunch of time and you have a takeover ! I may try finding a critter that likes to live in/with them and put them in a small all in one tank.

Well I did it. I ended up murdering them all. Just like I didn't want to do. There was no other way. I tried all the above mentioned methods and the only one that was going to eradicate them was murder.

What remnants remained from the brutal extraction are starting to grow new bodies. Time to hit them again.

I would like to know what ended up happening. Did you succefully erradicate them?

Three have grown back from what little remains we're were left on the rock. I'll have to do it again.

Maybe you could use kalk paste like they were aiptasia
