I have a white ribbon eel that’s been in my tank for about 5 months now. It’s never been a problem. Has a great appetite doesn’t bother fish. And recently he’s always on display.
But that’s what I’m worried about. I know they’re meant to be noctournal and he used to hide in the rocks during the day with only his head and a few inches poking out of the rockwork. But now he frequently journeys around the tank through rocks and open sand. Everywhere. Not constantly but maybe 25% of every day. It’s a treat to watch. He even swims into my jawfishs home under a sunken frag rack and back out the other side. It looks great but I know iveractivity is usually a sign of extreme stress. He still eats great and is visibly healthy.
Does anyone know if this behavior is a red flag or if there is anything I should watch out for?
