Eels are usually resistant to parasites common in reef tanks, but that guy has something. I'd lean towards flukes but I'm not one of the experts on IDing these things. Copper is NOT an eel safe medication, I'm not sure about Parazi on an eel. A freshwater dip can confirm flukes, but I've never heard of anyone doing one on a ribbon eel. They are pretty usually pretty tough to changes in water parameters, but I know ribbon eels can be a little more sensitive than say a Gymnothorax.

While not common with morays, Lympho would be my first suspect. It shows up sporadically on the body on morays and not just fin edges. My plan of action would be immune support- vitamin soaked food withpristine water and see if it clears up. If that doesn’t work I’d try an anti-fungal.

What is it eating? A wild caught blue eating is a rarity, a yellow eating is a unicorn.

Not flukes imo; I wouldn’t freshwater dip.

Hi guys i thought limphs too

Ive only had him in a week he was like that when he came in from sir lanka he also has a chunk out of his tail maybe a old wound

Feeding wise i never really have problems with them. There on lance fish there is a black in there which took a week to feed and a blue which took 9 days but this yellow waa less than 24hrs!!

Water qulity is poor tho with it been in a small QT tank on a fluval filter
There is river shrimp in there to try clean up i will sort this

I did add CP 4 days ago as a precaution at 10mg/L and left the lights off

I wasnt sure if to redose at day 5 and run ut for 14days to be sure

Thanks for taking the time to reply

Have a nice xmas

Ian

Just a small update

Well i say update but nothing has changed thr 3 eels are feeding fine

The black and blue show no signs of what the yellow has

But unfortunately the yellow eel still looks the same

Water quality is poor so need to improve there
