Ribbon Eel

I have an adult ribbon eel with his mesmorizing blue/yellow colorings. I have 125 gallon... He hides way too much. He used to florish all over the aquarium to show his beauty.. but he hides under the live rock continually, he is now about 7 inches long.. I have even tried changing the scape of the live rock.. and to no avail.. he just wont display himself towards the front of the aquarium... Any suggestions>

Any fish picking on him? Maybe he feels safer in hiding?
