Ricordea help

Hi so yesterday I went and got a torch to my lfs and when they were getting it there was just a loose ricordea with no frag plug there and they decided to give it to me for free so when I got home I placed it in a little hole in the rock but when I woke up today it was not there anymore and I couldn't see it anywhere. If it got blown under a rock will it survive?

I’ve had them disappear and show up again later. Just keep your eye out. What worked for me was putting coral rubble in an acclimation box. They’ll attach to a piece and then you can glue to rock.

It would slowly attach it self to the rock . or unless wavemaker would eventually cop it up.

If you want to get it sooner. Get a powerhead and try blowing under/arounds rocks (all sides), and look for a tiny scrunched up Ricordea.

I just this week had a frag fall and sweep into a deep cave. Impossible to reach into with anything.
I first tried some bend wire, and stuff.

Then I thought, What got it in, Might get it out. FLOW.
ANd BINGO....A few tries with Power Head, got it out where I could reach it.

Another Trick I found out by accident. Is using a BLACKLIGHT UV LED flashlight (the kind that makes FLorecent Markers, or Corals glow Green Phosphorescent ).

If you wait till total darkness, you can shine around, and you'll find the Ricordia (glowing green in/under the rocks).
That's how I found a mushroom that got loose.
BlackLight Flashlights are cheap, you might have one kicking around from an Art Set, or can get a cheap one on Amazon/China.
(They are handy for lots of things)

Better yet. Do both above, and you'll have it back quick.
