Hi,

I have this ricordea that hasn’t been doing well for a month now and trying to figure out what I can do to get it healthier.

I previously didn’t have it glued so some snails would knock it off and I would find it flipped upside down on the sand. I have now glued it to the rock work to prevent that happening.

it just looks like it’s shrinking and has its mouth open all the time.

Any ideas or suggestions on what to do is appreciated.

Gluing usually doesnt hold, they slime off. Loosely rubberband to rock or put in shot glass with rubble, ric on top. Cover with plastic mesh in low flow area. He should attach jn a week., then glue rubble where you want.
Probably upset from handling.

Do you feed?
Do you know the PAR?
What do your nutrient levels run at?
Are all others happy?
They like full spectrum lighting, not intense, say 50-75 par, and not just the blues.

The mushroom has always been attached to a rubble of rock. I meant to say I glued the rock\rubble that the mushroom has been on, to my main rock.
Give him time to adjust.
How are your other corals doing?

My ricordea is starting to grow too fast. What glue did you use?
The shroom doesnt look terrible. You can feed it pellets or what I feed- Mysis shrimp
All they require is moderate-medium light and flow and a little manganese and in in the water

I only feed LRS for fish food and also phyto twice a week. I never measured any par so I wouldn't know. I'm use the David Saxby AI profile at a low intensity for my 10g tank.

Other mushrooms look to be happy and doing okay. From my last water testing these were my water parameters which were high but did a 50% water change right after.

No3: 44.3 ppm
Po4: 0.44 ppm
Alk: 7.6 dkh

Ill tell you about 4-5 months ago all of my ricordias (like 8) all started to shrink and melt over 2-3 days. Took them all out and dipped in iodine for 30sec then put in a separate tank. Took about a month for them to recover. Then put them back into the big tank. All but one came back to there original size. That one is still in my nano.

Certain corals can be touchy. My list of touchy corals are as follows.

Duncans
Ricordias
Hammers
Gonis
Ora birds of paradise
