I have a lot of various corals, zoas, shrooms, a leather, several LPS, a chalice, and etc (no sps yet). About two-three weeks ago I removed a small ball anemone from under my favorite ricordea (I have two, a small green one and my favorite, a large purple one with a green ring). I only saw the anemone because my ricordea was spending a lot of time closed up and he was under the disk. After removal I would have assumed he would have gotten better but he hasn't. He's been closed up and actually even lost his hold and floated to a different part of the tank, after a few days of not doing any better there I moved him to a better place which he seems to like and I think he is coming back now that he is in a place with better flow. My concern is as to what caused his near death experience? Was it really the anemone, why would he continue to be unhealthy even after total removal? My other ricordea and shrooms are all perfectly healthy and are exhibiting perfect health and growth.

The anemone can and will sting corals. Even after removal of the problem anemone it may take some time for them to heal. Detaching and floating off is a way for them to find another spot away from danger.
