Rid tank of ich?

So I've learned my lesson about not quarantining. My tomini tang has come down with ich and it wont go away. I've been trying to catch him but I've unfortunately designed my scape to make it very easy to avoid capture. My thought is that I remove all corals, shrimp as many hermits and snails etc I can possibly find and put them in a 30 gallon tank for a month, then treat the display with copper (and possibly other meds) and hypo salinity for around a month, then do a couple big water changes to remove the medications before putting the inverts back. Would this actually work, is there a better way, or is this more effort than it's worth? I've been treating the tang with medicated fish food but that only seems to be slowing it. All other fish are fine.

I wouldn't treat your DT with any copper. Copper can seep into the rocks as well as the sealant of the tank, which will cause you issues long term for coral and inverts. Best thing to do is try to catch the fish using a fish trap, or turn off all the lights, and only turn on RED LEDs (fish can see us via red leds) and try to catch him that way.

Once caught, QT the fish, and fallow 76 days for DT

I am in the same boat as you and today I started using Cupramine for 2 weeks and will be using Prazipro after that in my DT. My royal gramma is scratching and am not sure whether it is Ich again or flukes. I don't have any coral or snails yet.

Get a huge UV Sterilizer!! We fought ich for about 6 months to no avail. QT’ed 20 fish across 3 tanks for almost 80 days, tank fallow for The same amount. Meticulously cleaned, rinsed, bleached, dried all tools hoses etc. to prevent cross contamination. We really threw everything at it. About a month after getting all the fish back in DT started seeing some white spots. We were about to throw in the towel, we spent so much time and money to be back at square one! Decided to try UV Sterilizer. And bought a huge Aqua Uv Sterilizer, haven’t seen a spot of ich since!!
