Is this done? Color never looks right on the card compared to what I get for alk.

Nope, mine usually look close to the colors on the cards. There are some videos on RedSeas youtube channel showing step by step on all of their test so you can see what it is supposed to look like.

I have watched it multiple times. This is the color change from blue to this. I have matched it with my other KH test kit and it seems that this color is when it is finished comparing it with the other kit.

When you first start doing the drops does it turn blue then turn to that end result? If it is not turning bright blue then your KH test liquid may be bad.

It turns bright blue then towards the end blue/green then grey/green then finally the goldfish red.

Hmmm, I don't know if is just the picture but the test fluid in the syringe looks a little light compared to mine. Mine is like the color of Hawaiian Punch.

Mine used to do that when my mag and cal and alk were not all in line properly. If one is way low or very high it makes the alk kinda clear reddish. Try to get your levels were they should be and the test kits will start working better.

My alk is 7.3 (tested with two test kits) calcium is 425 but my magnesium test is acting funny. It jumps around so much. I tested a couple days ago it's 1460. I know that's high but now it says it's 1700 ppm and I don't even dose for mag. I like Red Sea test kits for Ca and KH but hate it for Mg. It never works right.

I have kept mag up to 1800 for a couple weeks to combat dinos in tank. With mag jumping around is your cal and alk also jumping around? It kinda sounds like it might be trying to balance out.

I don't think my mag is jumping around. I think it is caused by me messing up the mag test. All has jumped around a little bit but not too much, only when I dose calcium.

Did you find that helped the dinos?

Sorry, I quoted the wrong post.

Did you find that helped the Dinos, Eckolancer? I've not heard of that working.

Every time I've done a Red Sea kh test I usually stop on more of a darker orange ish red color. I've never seen that color and I've used there tests for a few years but who knows, maybe I've been doing it wrong, lol I switched to Hanna
