So recently my mimic tang, and scopis tang, have shown signs of what I originally thought was itch. Rubbing against substrate, occasionally rocks as well. Hiding under over hang in cave, shy which is not normal for them. The reason I also originally thought it was ich is because I saw small white dots on my GSM. The closer I watched the more I noticed rapid breathing from the gils, and they only seemed to be rubbing there fins and gils against the sand. Occasionally the mimic would gulp air at the top but has not happened in the last week. The mimic also has a little discoloration on her nose. She has also since developed some white spots on her fins. Before I go about continuing treatment I want to make sure I’m fighting against the right thing. I’m starting to think that it is possibly flukes and not ich? Could any one help me out here?

First picture is of the new white spots on the tang, I tried my best to get a good pick but this is what I could come up with.
2nd picture discoloration on face
3rd picture is the white spots on the GSM and why I originally thought it was ich. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

A first step would be to try a freshwater dip to either confirm or eliminate flukes from the possible problems. And if it's not flukes, the FW dip will help remove some of the parasites from the fish's skin and gills.

Awesome I’m waiting for my air stone to get here and I will do the FWD, thank you! Any idea on what the white stuff is on the fins?

Hiding from light can be a symptom of velvet, rapid breathing too. It doesn't always wipe out the fish quickly. The FW dip would also remove some of the potential velvet parasites. Here's a link below with info on velvet:

Do a freshwater dip.

Immediately follow with a 30-60 minute bath in Ruby Reef Rally

Place the fish into a QT with either CP, or a chelated copper like Copper Power or Coppersafe that is already dosed with the chelated copper up to 1.0 ppm. Then raise to therapeutic levels with "small doses" spaced out over 48 hours to therapeutic level of 2.0 ppm. Hold at therapeutic for at least 14 days and then transfer to fresh, sterile QT to observe for 14 days, or keep the fish in the QT with the therapeutic level of 2.0 for 30 days.

Keep an antibiotic like Kanaplex on hand as bacterial infections can pop up during copper treatment.

No they don’t hide from the light just rapid breathing!! I’ll give it a try though. Don’t think it’s velvet but I could be wrong!! Any one else have any thoughts?
