So yesterday I upgraded from a 20 gallon rimless AIO to an aqueon 60 gallon breeder and I've run into a problem I wasn't anticipating at all. The rum is too thick to fit ANYTHING on it. Can't fit my lights, filters, protein skimmer. Nothing. Idk what to do. I cut a small portion to get the lights up for now, but theyre not very secure. A sump isn't an option for me right now and I'm at a loss. Any advice or prior experience from people would be appreciated.

Love the auqeon 60g.

Unfortunately the things that wont fit will need to be upgraded and the lights you can build a custom wall mounted holder for them out of pretty much anything.

Good luck!

I just got the skimmer today, it's brand new thank you for the response!

Depends on the equipment, for some things you may just be out of luck. But for other things can cut a bit of the rim like you did, Drill holes in the rim and use zip ties, mount to the wall behind the aquarium, hang things from ceiling magnetic mounts, superglue things to the rim, repurpose mounts meant for larger tanks. . . etc.

I have a similar tank and yes, it’s sometimes a pain to fit equipment. I have AI Prime 16 HD with rigid mount and Tunze skimmer and filter (both internal, holding with very strong magnets).

For my Tunze 3155 ATO I had someone make me a 3-D mount. Maybe look at that option for your equipment too ?

I actually need a mount for my tunze ATO too! Would it be possible for you tell me who made yours?

Thanks! I really appreciate it!
Yes I am around. Got your PM. It is the Tunze 3155 with the optical sensor and the float shut off. I make a holder that secures to a plastic rimmed tank and holds the two sensors. I don't recall the width of the rim on the Aqueon 60. 1"?

Hi! I know this thread has been a while, but wondering what skimmer you are using for your 60b? I also just got the HOB 1.5 and silly me didn't think that the skimmer wouldn't fit the 60b rim.

I've honestly just got it balanced in-between the tank and the wall at the moment... I haven't found any solution unfortunately:/
