Hey guys i am in the process of planning a 60x36x24 rimless peninsula style tank and i am looking to have no power heads on the 3 sides of the tank so i was thinking that i would use two mp60 on one side do you think this will work or will i have two much flow in one direction. If i really need to i will do a closed loop but closed loops get very expensive but if the mp60 do not work and i have an expensive tank custom built there will be no way to ever have holes in the bottom of the tank after they temper the glass. Along with the mp60 i will have two 1 inch returns on either side of an external overflow to agitate the surface of the water and i figured the mp60 would go in the middle. Any suggestions would be great!!

I have a personal fried who has a 400 gallon peninsula tank , actually tank of the month in several publications

Reefkeeping Magazine - Tank of the Monthe has 4 HUGE tunze pumps on one end creating a HUGE wave in his tank, its beautiful. I would suggest going with 2 MP60s (since the cost of a good closed loop system will be about the same price) place them both aprox 10 inches under the surface of the water in the exact same location on opposite sides, sink em and that should provide more then adaquate flow for your tank. I wish there was a video on his tank, its stunning not to mention the 70+lb clam he has

Thank you for the quick response, I guess I was just worried about pushing water in only one direction for the corals but I guess if your makeing a wave the water will just push back in the opposite direction. Just not too big of a wave action with the tank being rimless lol

maybe if you ever come to columbus I can see if we could stop by and you could check it out.... Its without a shadow of a doubt the most unreal tank ive seen in person, not to mention his clownfish breeding system, 5 ft skimmer and all his other goodies...
