Hello in the process of setting up our 93 rimless from marineland. Using marineland stand which I hope not to regret after seeing a lot of other people not using and going diy. But I’m not that skilled.

Anyway my question comes down to making sure this tank is level and not going to cause an issue being rimless. Tanks sitting here prior were rimmed and fairly thick glass so wasn’t a major issue being slightly off.

I have leveling mat under the aquarium on the stand. And I have rubber mat under the stand between the vinyl flooring. Also a 7x6 storage closet built in basement under where tank is as plans were originally for something larger in the 6-8’ range. But here we are with a 93 rimless lol.

I’m using a 24” level on roughly 32” run and I’m within the level lines but not centered. The right needs to come up probably a 1/16”. I can shim under the stand and between the mat and push it up.

Any advice and help is appreciated and sorry for rambling....

I have a Red Sea E-260 that the front is 1/16th inch lower than the back. Where I had placed it, the floor was slightly sloped higher at the wall. I talked to tech support at Red Sea and they assured me it was fine. Then I remembered my Physics, "liquid in a vessel exerts equal pressure upon all sides of the vessel, no matter the orientation".

Following... I’m in a similar situation.

Alex, out of curiosity, what kind of rubber mat are you using under your stand? My tank is over laminate flooring, so I could definitely use a bit of water protection over it too. My stand has a decent size gap under it so hopefully anything spilled should dry rather quickly. Is the mat pretty dense? No issues with stability, ie. wiggling from the mat having any “give” to it?

As long as it's within the level lines there's no need to shim the stand or mess around with it. Keep in mind tanks are designed with a safety factor in mind.

1/16" out level, even 1/8" out, has little if any chance of causing a problem.

When you get beyond that is when you have to be careful. Because if that out-level state is not one directional -- e.g. from side-to-side or front-to-back -- but bi-directional (e.g. toward a corner -- front-to-side, or back-to-side), it could indicate a twisted stand or stand top that could exert torque on the tank. Torque puts uneven pressure on the tank seams, and will significantly increase their chance of failure.

Thanks everyone I feel a little better [emoji23] first rimless tank and I’m nervous of it coming apart [emoji52].

Honestly is just like garage mat that you can connect together and make a larger mat. It causes no issues as the stand slid rather well on the flooring and now stays rather well. No wiggling or stability issues. And the stand sinks down into it. It was more to protect the floor than anything. Can kinda see it in this pic. I’m planning to trim it back closer to the stand.
