Rimless tank and Ventura stand

Wondering if a Marineland, 45g rimless is okay to sit on a Marineland Ventura stand?
Reason why I was asking was that I always was under the impression that tanks without the hard plastic bottom framing should have styrofoam or yoga mat type material underneath which would incorporate a solid top type stand and the Ventura line is only a rimmed top.

I've heard the same about using a pad of some kind. I'd suggest picking up an appropriately sized pad just for safe measure (I think you can get them from Marine Depot).

Problem with the Marineland Ventura stand is that it’s not a solid top that you could place a mat on, looks like a 2” maybe 3” rim so the entire center is open.
