Hey! I recently went rimless. My tank is fairly close to my kitchen. I'm in an apt and my oven hood isn't the greatest. Anyway. The area can get fairly smoky (nothing crazy) when i'm meal prepping etc...I can see that the air is smoky from the light over my tank. I was just curious if any of this would affect the water? Contaminants etc..? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

My rimless tank is near my kitchen and I’ve noticed a slight drop in PH with guests over and cooking a lot (with gas). My tank is a 250 gal system and the skimmer is plumbed to outside air so the ph doesn’t change a lot.

I personally wouldn’t worry about general cooking being a problem. Worst case is it may drop your PH a bit. If you can open a near by window if it gets bad.
