Rinsing Rowa or is that not rinsing Rowa.

If you have an open top reactor similar to my Ultra reef reactor and want to use Rowa media then there is no need to rinse the Rowa before putting it in the reactor.
I simply put the required amount of Rowa in the reactor and put some filter mat over the top and secure with an elastic band round the top. Run the reactor for an hour or untill the water runs clear then remove and discard the filter mat. No more messy rinsing of the Rowa.

BTW. The fines (dust) in the Rowa will continue to work reducing phosphate while caught in the filter mat so you aren't throwing away valuable media as there can be quite a lot of fines in iron exchange resins like Rowa.

Try it, you will never rinse the likes of Rowa outside the sump again

Theres no poll but then you do whatever your tank needs in my case a small amount of Rowa adds that balance between very low as in 1ppm nitrate ( need to rise it slightly) and PO4.
