Rinsing with tap water

Is it okay to rinse equipment, etc with tap water and placing/using it back in the aquarium without drying it off, or rinsing with RODI water?

Is there enough trace 'contaminants' in the tap water to create issues if it where to get into the tank?

It's fine. Wash things in water all you want. I rinse test equipment with RODI, but tap water for everything else.

I rinse everything with tap water including sand and rocks and in my tank they go, wet and all..

Honestly same,
I ring out filter sponges but i just use tap unless it’s fancy and scientific.
