Rio Hyperflow pump hyper noise.

Just installed a Rio Hyperflow pump and I am not sure if it's faulty as it sounds like a jet engine?! Can hear it in every room in the house the noise is a vibrantion and very annoying!

Anyone else have one?

I've had them, it shouldn't sound like that. I'd suggest unplugging it and taking it out. Take off the impeller cover, take out the impeller, look for any debris or broken parts. How are you using the pump exactly? As a return? How it is mounted or sitting now?

I have done that, the impeller is very slightly loose and touching the side wall of the impeller chamber, enough to wear the side of the impeller, I tried taking it apart and checking for debris and snuggly putting it back together but it's still rattling away. Gutted as I can't find my receipt on eBay.
I wanted it for water movement in the DS tank but it's unbearable.
