It was a sad day yesterday. I lost a lot of fish took only 30 mins after I left for work for My anemone to commit suicide into my RS45 gyro wave maker, and less than 2 hrs to almost kill everything in the tank. I Did a 50 % change, and the clowns are still alive 24 hours later
I had the following Live stock
2 Clownfish
1 Yellow Wrasse RIP 03/09/22
2 Yellow Tail Damsels RIP 03/09/22
1 Convict Goby RIP 03/09/22
1 chalk goby RIP 03/09/22
1 Philippines Yellow Tang RIP 03/09/22
1 Blue Tang RIP 03/03/22
1 Flame Hawkfish RIP 03/09/22
10 Hermit crabs
1 Emerald crab RIP 03/09/22
5 Snails
3 Nassarius snail
1 Kenya Tree
Zoas Xenia
1 Bubble Tip anemone
1 Green tip anemone RIP 03/09/22

Sorry to hear that.

Moving forward, with gyre style pumps, you can make a DIY screen cover for less than 10 bucks.

1 pack of cross stitch mesh from any walmart, Joanns, hobby Lobby, etc.
1 pack of small zip ties.

Cut pieces to width of impeller side
Wrap around cage and cut so that 4-5 holes overlap the one side.
use small zip ties to secure the cross stitch mesh together.

These can be slid off with some effort to clean and will keep nems out of them.

Im sorry to hear that. I was swapping tanks and had a small one go into a wave maker. Killed 3 fish before I realized what happened.

Gosh, had the same thing happen to me, first time I added a bubble tip. Left the wave maker on and the anemone decided to talk a walk and put its bubbles where its bubbles should not go. Sad day indeed...

Any chance you have a picture of what these guards look like?
