RIP Blue Face Angel

I found my Blue Faced Angel dead this morning :( Gutted!
It had a bit of trauma on the side, but when i fished it out - these worms were coming out the side of its gills, take a look at the Video.

Sorry for your loss. The video is brief, but I think I see enough to recognize a bristle worm. To my knowledge these small ones do not attack fish. Much more likely the fish died and then the worm moved in opportunistically
 
Hopefully these bristle worms are just scavengers that go through uneaten food

I hope these bristle worm are just scavengers that clean up uneaten food

Yes, that is just a bristleworm that came in to feed on the dead fish's tissues. When you see segments like that, you can be pretty confident the it is an annelid, a segmented worm. Tapeworms have segments, but they live in the fish's gut.

Of course, none of that tells you why the angel died.....sorry to see that.
