I'm curious what this community thinks about the new content ReefBuilders is putting out post Adams.

well, the shift began while adam was still there…
but they went from a site
with objective information…
to a site with subjective information.

much like brstv/reviews

simply put,
they’re all bullhorns for companies nowadays

the days of honest reviews are gone…
it’s all hype nowadays

I like objective information.

Reef Therapy should be disbanded. None of the dudes really keep anything difficult or anything much at all.

There’s was only one Jake Adams. Not going to duplicate that and don’t see any that come close to him. Fact he didn’t use RODI goes to show he didn’t just go with the flow.

There are a lot of hobbyists who have something to contribute though. Adams was just one of them. I wonder how the decision was made for the new host. He seems to be pretty new to everything.

You could not listen? I'm sorry they don't operate their podcast or their lives how you think they should.

I think the article about the new Triton research vessel was interesting.

I still listen to the podcast and watch most of the YT videos because I love to consume reefing content and I'm glad they're still doing it but it's in no way shape or form anything close to the Reef Therapy we knew and loved before Jake's passing. I used to learn things when listening to Reef Therapy, now I don't really learn anything. It used to be so reef aquarium focused with deep knowledgeable dives on certain topics now it's way more basic and unfocused. I think Rappin with Reefbum is now the most informational reefing podcast for me and Reef Beef is the most entertaining and probably my overall favorite podcast. I really enjoyed the Reef Beef episode with Mark and honestly thought he had better chemistry with Ben and Rich than Raj and Remy.

They sure are good at shilling for red sea tanks that's for sure. I've asked them to write about the spate of tank breaks and not one word... yet they readily post new tank editions for sale in review articles. I no longer read them.

Don't think I'm being mean, here's the request written nicely: ignored

They've put out two different new sales articles for red sea after I posted this request to them:

They're also great at advising the masses to dump cipro in their tanks for any perceived ailment. Search the Paletta article from them

Are you learning anything from the new hosts?
TBH, BRS was best with Ryan but eventually, I'm sure he had to run his business rather than be promoting it too. I actually have found some interesting observations coming from him and Randy both. I also find Than at TG to be more chill when discussing organisms and related specifics. So yeah, at times I do find them informative. The new ones, not exactly. They feel more like promos for products or made to be watched for such value.

Why is it always about Red Sea tanks breaking?

This thread is not about that.

they refuse even- handed information on factual reef trends.

They're swaying more buyers to take the bait by posting any new supportive sales article for red sea without ever ever mentioning the really bad downside people are experiencing, after having read their sales articles from 2015: just like these current ones.

The cipro wave of advice they put out was my final straw.

I like their news on what's new around reef world, anything technical I find it hard to follow, no matter who presents it.

I wonder if Than is paying them for more exposure.

Than is a bit of an enigma to me. He's got this huge modern facility with nothing to show for it.

Recently I watched a tour video of his space were all he did was complain about low PH.

He then showed the viewer an SPS tank to which i was pretty underwhelmed by.
