I lost my tuxedo sea urchin "Street" a few days ago. He was doing fine one day and dead the next. I had just commented to my husband how fast that little bugger really was and then boom, gone. I'm so sad and I don't know why he died. My water parameters were/are better than they've been, almost perfect even. He came with the tank that I was given. It came with a Flame back angel, 2 clowns and the urchin. I replaced the live sand immediately when I got it because the original was absolutely putrid. Now I'm thinking about replacing the live rock or at least giving it all a good cleaning and growing my own.

I'm pretty sure he didn't starve, not only was there algae, but I fed him nori regularly. He loved it and if there were urchin street races I'm sure he'd have won if there was nori at the finish line. LOL

I lost my Flame back angel (I posted previously about it) and it was my own fault, but this time I'm at a loss as to why.

:(

I've been doing weekly water changes but that's all.
My light did go out and my temperature dropped to about 74F from 78.4F, it was over about 2 days. But from what I've found out about them, it shouldn't have affected him. Could it have anyway?

Not likely most of the time I hear of an urchin dieing its usually from starvation but if it was eating nori then I doubt thats it. How big was it? Maybe he got to fat and had a heart attack lol
