Do you have any aiptasia? Just wondering how he was doing when it comes to eating them.

I haven't seen it eat any aiptasia but it does appear I have a few missing. There doesn't seem to be as many out in the open but I still see some in the dark spots and the cracks. I've been feeding him well since he's new but once I cut back to regular feedings he may get into the aiptasia more.

Everyone says they are very shy fish but this one is getting bold quickly. Doesn't back down from aggression. It's not scared of me or anyone looking at it but it darts away at any bumps, loud noises or me putting my hands in the tank. It comes right back out though.

So far no coral or clam picking!

How big is it?

Paul I have always used them and never had issues until now. I have tries to separate orders of them and they are not doing the job. :(

Peppermint shrimp have never let me down with aptaisia :)

I didn't get the copperband for Aiptasia. I do have a few but they aren't a problem and I just juice them if I get too many.

Plus, I can't keep peppermint shrimp in my tank. :xd:

That bad boy was caught in the act. Nice picture though...

He hunts them down in the morning before the lights come on. I had a couple dozen peps in there and they are all gone now.

Very nice tank. You have had quite the journey with it. Just read the whole thread and I commend you for sticking it out through some tough challenges.

Good luck with the new copperband. I have always thought they were a neat fish. Hopefully it does well for you and plays nice with your corals.

Thank you. :) My 4 year tank birthday is coming soon!

Almost all my Aiptasia are gone now. I still see a few here and there but I just noticed today they are hard to find. I haven't seen the copperband eat any but they are thinning out for sure.

I don't see any Aiptasia in my tank anymore. The copperband ate them all that I can see. Another thing I noticed is that the patches of colonial hydroids are gone. I'm not sure if the copperband ate them or if they are just tucked into the rock since the CB picks all day. It isn't eating my vermetid snails but they aren't making huge mucus nets anymore. I think the copperband is keeping them tucked into their tubes. This has quickly become one of my all time favorite fish. It's nearly eating out of my hand already. Eats mysis like a pig. I love how it turns flat or upside down to work into the rocks while hunting.

Doing great so far. Scared to eat at first but picked at the rocks a lot. It is getting used to feeding and came right out for mysis tonight.

Congrats on your new aquisition... what a cutie!
